The World Affairs Council of Western Michigan hosted the Chinese Consul General of China in Chicago Zhao Jian and members of his team at a luncheon in the University Club of Grand Rapids on Wednesday, January 11.
The Consul delivered opening remarks on current issues in China and the latest developments in U.S.-China relations. He touched on topics such as COVID, Taiwan, trade, and renewed talks between the two countries.
Consul General Zhao Jian then fielded questions from the Council audience, made up of business and academic leaders in the region.
Partners who hosted tables for the event were Amway, Bank of America, Deloitte, Grand Valley State University’s Seidman School of Business, Steelcase, Supply Chain Solutions, and Warner Norcross + Judd.
